Interfaith Voices broadcasts on 76 stations in the US and Canada, including nationwide on XM satellite radio. But for those who can't hear the show on the radio, or who prefer the convenience of listening on their own schedule, we offer a weekly podcast of the program.

Podcasting Defined
The Interfaith Voices podcast lets you schedule the download of audio copies (in mp3 format) of each week's program directly to your computer. Once it's on your computer you can listen to it there, or transfer it to a portable audio device for listening on the go. It's like TiVo for the radio, but with less work! Our podcast is free and anyone can subscribe to it using podcasting software such as Apple's iTunes. Interfaith Voices also offers on demand downloads (in mp3 format) and streaming audio (click the play button next to the show title) so that you can directly access that week's show on its companion Web site. The difference between the podcast and on demand downloads boils down to one thing: the podcast is automatically delivered to your computer as each new episode becomes available.
What's the Advantage?
Some people can't listen to our show on the radio. The show may air at an inconvenient time of day, you may have a limited amount of time for listening, or the show may be unavailable on your local public radio station. If so, tell them to pick us up! Our podcast allows you to listen to our program during a time and at a place most convenient for you. Listening here at our website may prove difficult because you, the listener, have to be tethered to your computer in order to hear it, which means you can't listen to the program in your car, on the bus, on the train, or sometimes even at your office (system administrators sometimes restrict streaming audio because it eats up bandwidth).
Do I Need an iPod to Listen to a podcast?
No, our podcasts are available as mp3 audio files, the most universal format for listening on various devices. You can listen to podcast episodes right on your computer using any one of a number of software programs: iTunes, Windows Media Player, Amarok, Rhythmbox, WinAmp, and many others. Most of these software programs let you burn the podcast to a CD so you can listen in your car or at home on your stereo. For ultimate portability, the podcast works wonderfully on portable media devices like the iPod or other mp3 players and now even on some mobile phones.
